Person perception

The perception of other people. Cues such as facial expression, posture, gesture, body movement, tone of voice, etc., are used to evaluate their current mood and overall personalities (McKenna, 1994: 144). Each one of us has an implicit personality theory based on our experience, assumptions about people, beliefs and prejudices. The evidence of our senses is used to collect data about the perceived person and attribute characteristics to them according to our implicit theory.
