While there are a few inherent differences, they, of course, have similarities too. Both methods are designed to take the products and services to the consumers with the aim of encouraging sales. The main difference, as mentioned above, is simply the medium used to reach the consumers. This will then inform the creation of the campaign entirely from the medium to the delivery and everything in between. So while the channels themselves do indeed differ, the skills needed to create a marketing campaign do tend to be transferable.

For the most part, one really isn’t better than the other, and in fact, a lot of businesses would benefit from a marketing strategy which represents a marriage between the two options. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule; for example, businesses that operate exclusively within the digital space are likely to need to lean more towards digital methods, although they could still benefit from traditional methods like radio ads.
